A. Trust & Quality

How do I know the work was really done?

We send before-and-after photo reports after each visit, visible in your app and email.

Who stands behind Tending?

Tending.app is a dedicated service created and operated by All Funeral Services, a trusted nationwide funeral and cemetery services company. Being backed by an established industry provider ensures professional standards, trained specialists, and reliable support.

Who performs the work?

Our local specialists are trained and certified by Tending. We provide them with detailed cleaning protocols and eco-friendly equipment.

Are your materials safe for the monument and environment?

Yes. We use biodegradable, pH-balanced, non-toxic products safe for marble, granite, and bronze.

Do you guarantee the work?

We are happy to address any issues that you see in the photo report that is sent to you after each job, or if you visit the gravesite personally, free of charge. The ongoing warranty is valid while your subscription plan is active. After a one-time cleaning/restoration, the warranty period is 14 days.

Are you insured in case something goes wrong?

Yes. All our work is covered by a $2M Occurrence / $2M Aggregate liability insurance policy. This protects you and the memorial against accidental damage or issues that might occur during cleaning or maintenance. Our team also follows cemetery regulations and best-practice safety standards for every service.

B. Services & Plans

What’s the difference between Restoration and Ongoing Care?

Restoration is a one-time deep cleaning and servicing of the stone. It includes cleaning, repairing chips and cracks, sealing joints, and repainting the lettering.
Ongoing Care keeps the monument clean and protected all year long with scheduled visits every 3 months.

Can you fix just the letters or cracks?

Yes. Our plans cover that.

I’m not sure about the monument’s condition.

We’ll perform an initial inspection and send you photos with a suggested plan.

How do weather or seasonal conditions influence the service?

We might need to adjust maintenance work based on the weather or time of year to ensure top-notch quality and safety. We'll always let you know beforehand if anything changes!

C. Location & Access

I live far away — can I still order?

Yes. The cemetery must be located within the United States, but you can place an order from anywhere in the world using any international card accepted by Stripe.

My cemetery isn’t on your list.

Enter its name manually. We’ll locate it, as long as the cemetery is within the United States. The more details you provide (county, full cemetery name, street address, city, state, plot/section/lot/row, or GPS coordinates), the faster and more accurate our search will be. If you have a link to the cemetery page, a map pin, or a photo of the monument, please include it when placing the order. We will add the county, full cemetery name, postal address, and a map pin to your order so your Care Manager can find the grave.

The cemetery doesn’t allow outside workers.

Cemeteries that accept paid maintenance are required to allow licensed contractors. We’ll handle access permissions for you.

How do you find the grave?

Share as much information as possible (name, birth/death dates, etc.). Our research team uses public databases and mapping tools — including services like BillionGraves, Find a Grave, and MillionGraves — to locate the exact resting place.

D. Why Grave Care Matters

Why should I take care of a monument?

Regular care keeps the memory alive and prevents natural damage caused by rain, moss, and pollution. It also helps preserve inscriptions and structure for decades, protecting the monument from costly repairs later.

How often should a grave be cleaned?

Ideally, light cleaning should be done several times a year, with a deeper restoration every few years depending on the material and local climate. Our Ongoing Care plan is the perfect choice for this.

Can I clean the monument myself?

You can, but be careful. Many household cleaners damage stone. We use pH-balanced, professional products that are safe for marble, granite, and bronze.
You can gently clean a headstone using a soft cloth or sponge and mild dish soap mixed with water. Avoid using harsh household cleaners, bleach, vinegar, or power washing, as these can permanently damage the stone’s surface or lettering.
For best results and long-term preservation, we recommend leaving cleaning to our professionally trained team, who use stone-safe solutions and techniques tailored to each material type.

What is Restoration and when do I need it?

Restoration is a one-time deep service that removes years of dirt, restores lettering and color, seals cracks, and revives the original look of the monument. It’s ideal if the stone hasn’t been cleaned for years or has visible damage.
