The Forgotten Family Cemetery in Texas

A client contacted us asking to restore what she believed was a single grave “near the road” on an old, abandoned cemetery plot. She thought only one of her ancestors was buried there.

When our team arrived, the area was completely overgrown with bushes and heavy vegetation. After clearing the access path, we noticed additional stone outlines beneath the underbrush. We carefully trimmed the overgrowth — and uncovered several more gravestones hidden under decades of plants.

We checked the names and dates and realized that this was an entire family cemetery that the client didn’t know existed.

When we told her, she was overwhelmed with emotion. Her family had believed that only one grave remained.

The restoration took several days. We brought in a crane multiple times to lift large and heavy monuments, cleaned and restored each headstone, repaired the bases, and completed a full preservation of the entire family plot.
