Flash Flood Washouts
Rincon Valley is channel country. Rainwater comes off the Rincon Mountains fast. It cuts new paths through the sandy soil every monsoon season.
We see dirt washed completely away from the base of headstones. The monument hangs in the air before tipping over. If you are looking for tombstone repair and restoration because a marker is leaning, it’s erosion. We backfill the washout and pack the ground to secure the foundation.
Sand Abrasion
The water carries sharp sand. When it hits the base of a monument, it scours the polish off. It looks like a gray ring around the bottom. We clean this area and apply a stone enhancer to hide the abrasion and seal the stone against future wear.
Sun Bleached Inscriptions
The valley floor is exposed. UV rays cook the paint out of lettering. A black name turns gray. We specialize in grave site cleaning services that include re-inking with UV-stable paint. We make sure the tribute stands out clearly against the desert stone.
